Australian pioneering celebrity cook and food writer, Margaret Fulton, has died aged 94.Fulton's family say they are "mourning the loss of their loving, inspirational and treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother early this morning," according to a statement provided to Delicious magazine.Fulton is the author of more than 20 cookbooks, including the Margaret Fulton Cookbook and the Encyclopedia of Food and Cookery.Coming to prominence as a cook and writer in the late 1950s and in early 1960s, Fulton is credited with introducing Australian home cooks, particularly women, to a wider culinary repertoire.She brought 'international cuisine' to the suburbs through her writings and recipes, especially those in the Woman's Day. Fulton was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1983 for her services to cookery and two decades later was named by the National Trust as an Australian Living Treasure.
